My sister Evelyn's baby was blessed this last week. We were so happy that we could attend. Her father gave a wonderful blessing.
Kiari is such an adorable baby. Reed and I were both excited to hold a baby girl. Evie even let me dress her!!!!! I think she thought I was a little weird for getting excited about that. But for the record there is something totally different about dressing a girl than dressing a boy!

Grandma Christensen Blankets

Reeds mother made a goal to crochet blankets for all of her Grandchildren. I think she has finished making them for all the grandchildren here but with two more on the way I am sure she will still be quite busy. They are beautiful and the boys really love them.

Christmas

We had a great Christmas! We spent Christmas eve with Reed's family. We went caroling as a family which was a new experience and kind-of fun. The boys loved it especially because while we were at the last house Santa clause answered the door and gave all the kids candy canes. Dean however, was very concerned that we were not at home in our beds because "Santa does leave presents unless we are all asleep!"
Christmas morning I was the first to wake up (as usual) and I anxiously awaited for the rest of my family to wake. After opening presents we headed over to my parents house and spent the rest of the day just hanging out with them. It was all wonderful.

We had lots of fun for Levi's birthday!!!!! We went to a place called bounce. It was just right for Levi he could run a jump and slide all over the place. After this we went to McDonald's and let the boys play in the play area. (They almost had just as much fun doing this.) Levi was so tired by the end of the night we had to wake him up to open presents and blow out the candles. I call that a perfect day!!!!

Reed's birthday was on Sunday this year. His birthday request was to get home from church, get in pajamas and just play together as a family. Which we did and we had a fabulous day!

Our ward building is being renovated right now so for our ward Christmas party we went to a members airplane hanger. The boys thought that was pretty cool. However we had a ton of people show up and the place was packed! I almost didn't go because Reed had to work late and so I would have to go solo but after pleading eyes I went. After waiting in line for dinner for an hour with four very excited boys I started thinking I should have stayed home. But thankfully Reed showed up a few minuets after that. It was well worth the wait seeing the look on the boy's faces as Santa walked in. Andrew was the very first in line he ran up grabbed his candy and ran away even before I could take a picture. Dean surprised me by actually standing next to and TALKING! to Santa he told me later that he new that wasn't the real Santa but that he was Santa's helper and would "get his message to him" No one is more excited for Christmas this year than Dean. I can already see the light of Christmas kind-of going out in Allen he doesn't say anything just is always "thinking" when the Santa subject comes up. I think he has decided to be content with not knowing one way or the other. There was a short program in which the entire primary acted out the Nativity story. I couldn't help but laugh when Mary and Joseph walked in they had very uncomfortable faces and walked in very fast making sure to stand as far apart from one another as possible. I think they were both about ten years old definitely in the I don't like girls/boys stage it was funny. Last minuet they gave Allen the part of the inn keeper but he got stage fright after saying "NO" when asked if there was room in the inn. It was a little chaotic but overall a pretty good program. A very good start to the Holiday season.

We had lots of fun on Deans birthday. I don't have any pictures right now though due to the fact that I left my camera at my mom's house so we bought a disposable one. Now we just have to get them developed. So I will have to post that later.

I had a wonderful birthday this year. Reed, and my Mom and Dad worked hard to make this day very special for me!! I loved being able to go on a date with Reed (especially since we ended at joann fabrics:0 ) and spend the weekend at my parents. It's a tradition that I love and plan to keep. Every year my Dad makes me a Lemon meriange pie I don't know why but that alone makes every birthday wonderful everything else it's just like cherries on top!!!! ( lots of wonderful cherries!!!!)

It was so fun to have pink around the house for a little while. I made these things as a gift for my sister's baby girl along with a dress and skirt that I forgot to take pictures of. Now I am back to the real world of camo and super heroes!!! :)

SNOW DAY!!!

I left my camera at my Mom's house this weekend so I will have to post pictures later. We have about a foot of snow right now and it's still snowing! I am happy just because school is canceled for the day so I get to spend my day with all of my boys making snow men, having snow ball fights, drinking hot cocoa and making cookies. Today snow is good.

First Snow

It snowed for the first time today. The boys were so excited that they have been asking to go outside since 6:30 this morning. When I was a kid I was too filled with the same excitement. Now I see snow as slick roads, crazy traffic, cold, wet, and exhausting(putting snow cloths on and off) But it is beautiful and I do like to get out in the snow. If I could just hire someone to drive me around I would be happy once more. :)

THE BIG MOVE

After serveral nights of Levi and Andrew sneaking in to sleep with Allen and Dean we decided to just move them all in the same room together. But our biggest room was still a little squishy with 4 beds in it. So we decided to try out turning our bonus room into a bedroom. I Love it!! The boys room is now right by ours and I don't know why but that is really comforting to me!

Does anyone reconize the black thing in the center? Yup, that's the bottom of my MOM and Dad's old Hutch. and here is the top.

Now those that know me know that I am not a good decorator but I do try. (which sometimes is worse!) Reed laughed at me because I went a little crazy with the spray paint. Here are some examples....

Here are a few more things I have tried.

It's no where perfect. But after some curtains and matching quilts I think it will meet my standard of approval. :) Any ideas?

Halloween

I was really lame for Halloween this year. I didn't put up any decorations except a sign that said "Boo." Most of the boys costumes were from years past. I didn't make any of the fun treats we usually make to take to friends and neighbors. However, the boys didn't notice any of this. They were just as excited this year as in years past. Reed and I could not stop laughing at Andrew running up to the doors as fast as he could, pounding on the doors and saying "Trick or Treat, Trick or Treat, Trick or treat" until a candy was dropped into his bag. His excitement lasted all day. This made me think about how much I try to overdue things sometimes. I always think I'm doing this or that to make the kids have a better experience but in the end they are always the ones that make it fun!
I also want to give Brooke and Aubrey a big THANK YOU!! Reed didn't get home till eight so I was grateful for their help till he got home!!! You guys are AWESOME!!!:)

We saw this at Walmart and couldn't resist. All except Reed we had to beg him a little to get him to stand in the middle of an aisle at Walmart and stick his head through some card board. Proof positive that Reed loves his boys!!! :)

Dean has a couple of just barely loose teeth. I heard Allen and Dean talking in the other room and walked in to find this. Needless to say I ran for the camera and made it back in time to capture this momentous occasion. I could not stop laughing!Especially when I heard Dean say "Don't stop pulling when I scream only when I say stop." When I asked Dean why he was having Allen try to pull his tooth out he told me that he needs a dollar. What boys will do huh!!??

I have been wanting to try some new recipies but my family is so picky. I finally made this potato soup (because I ran out of everything else and didn't feel like shopping) and the boys and I loved it! It made us all really full fast but it was perfect and very easy!!

I decided to do a trial run at making pajamas before I committed to making them for Christmas. I could not believe how easy they were!! Levi thought they were karate pants and had great fun for the rest of the day pretending to be a ninja.

Here is that cake for "The party" It turned out OK. I am glad I decided to keep it a little simple. They didn't use it for anything except decoration but I am sure that it didn't taste that great anyway:) I took the tier that I ways going to use for the top and I gave it to the neighbor girl for her tea-party. She was very excited so that made it all worth while!

I had a blast this last week. We (My mom and dad, and sisters (all but Christa whose was missed but she just moved and so wasn't able to make it.) drove to Idaho Falls to surprise my older sisters who turned thirty. It was really fun to see their surprised faces and spend a couple of days as a family! The next day was my Mom's and Evelyn's so it was basically two full days of cake! :) It was great!!

Better late than never right!!?? Well Allen's baptism turned out perfect. I felt a little bewildered the whole time. I just kept thinking " Can he really be this old?" Oh-well. I have to say I have seen a whole new Allen since his baptism. His maturity level has increased ten times and I feel that I can actually reason with him! I really hope that lasts!!!He is a great kid,and I know he will be a wonderful man someday.
We are truly grateful to everyone that came. Allen kept talking about how many people came and naming them off. It really meant a lot to him and us as well!!!

Summer is near, I can feel it. The boys and I are counting down the days till school is out. (only 7 days to go) We are making list of fun things we want to do!! I love summer time. I love having All the boys home with me everyday. I love watching them play in the sprinklers, swim, and all of the other fun summer time things. I love the warm weather. This summer is going to be great!!!:) (I hope)

Baseball

Dean is so funny to watch play. He slowly walks... more like shuffles up to the plate with his head tucked down. Then he slowly raises the bat,hits the ball fast, runs to the plate fast and then tucks his head down in his shoulders and covers his face like he is embarrased. He is a funny kid.

Allen loves baseball this year he is in coach pitch and I have been surprised with how well he has done. He plays first base and catcher most of the time because the coach says he has a good arm ( or so Allen has told me) But I think they still rotate like tee ball. I love how both of the boys teams don't keep score but after every game they say "Guess what, we won mom!" I love that.

The baby basket only sold for $30 at the ward auction. It was one of the last things to go and people were very tired and bored. The auction didn't end till 10:30 and it was exhausting. But we made more this year than years past. We got a hand made rocking horse that is pretty neat.

Dean was so excited to ride horses at Aunt Mary's he said " Today all my dreams come true" It made me laugh.

Allen, Andrew and I also got a turn on the horse. That poor horse was turning cirlces for about an hour, but it was so much fun! (P.s the mud on my coat was from a four wheeler ride with Mary and Mom. It was a pretty crazy ride through the mud. After getting stuck in some deep mud mom decided she had enough and got off it was pretty funny!!)

Recently the boys decided that they wanted to play pirates and asked if I would take the treasure chest down from the plant shelf and make a treasure map for them to find it. So I did and it felt a little bit heavy but I didn't think much of it. Come to find out (at the end of their treasure hunt) it was stuffed full of candy from two years ago. I was pretty shocked and they were pretty excited untill they tasted it....
